Rival Hearts

WEEKLY HERALD (Off your regular Saturday Edition)

June 14, 2011
So, trying to keep up with this as well as Rival Hearts has proven to be a bit more of a challenge than I'd expected. I took a little extra time to make sure this one was actually a completed page, however. This will probably keep coming a bit more slowly for a bit, until I get a better feel for my schedule. But they will be done.

And if you didn't read it on the other page, this past weekend's celebrating did go well. I'm not looking forward to going back to work in the morning. And it isn't just because I'm going to bed late again.
... But that doesn't help.

May 16, 2011
Okay, this may count as cheating. Images drawn, clearly... not perfect though, not inked and definitely not shaded. On the list of things to do, but since this is going to be a busy week, with probably less personal time to actually get drawing done. So they may look a bit rushed for a few weeks, but comics will be done, and eventually completed to full detail and shading.

Why busy this coming weekend, by the way? I'll be heading to NJ for a wedding. Hubby's getting the weekend off which is defintely good, but it does mean no free after-works for me to focus on comic drawing before I come home to the land of todder and distractions. I'll still manage to complete something! count on it. :-)

May 12, 2011
So, I'm a little behind in this. Aside from an a rather busy weekend, I forgot just how long the marker shading takes, which is why this isn't currently finished. Though I do plan on finishing that as I'm also adding the next page this coming weekend. I'm not doing last minute work on this right now. I hope I can keep ahead.

In other news... I'm really excited about pursuing this. For those of you who don't know, Black as White is now officially in reboot, with updated artwork and dialogue compared to what I'd started 10 years ago. Out of what's up so far, the first 11 pages (the prologue) were redrawn about 4 years ago for a special convention release. I cheated and used these rather than redrawing them again.
The current page, 12, is brand newly drawn. This means there will still be some variety in drawing styles.
That and I can't seem to be consistent in my drawing right now anyway. Wait until you see the looks in page 13...

May 1, 2011
I did it! We're set up and all new!! I started with the cover page this time, but if you following along the first 11 pages are up. I will attempt to keep update pattern every week, possibly more often, if time allows.
For those of you who are acquainted enough with the previous comic stuff, I do plan on following the old storyline rather closely, but there will be some changes. (If you don't know the old story, miss the old art or want to jump ahead, look for the old archive. I won't be nice enough to tell you where it is. Heh heh... ^_^ ~ <3)

Okay, this is finally done... time to be a parent again.

April 27, 2011
Well, it took me longer to add to this, but this is the last installment (two pictures and a chunk of dialogue between) of this modern day interlude. This coming weekend, starting May 1, will be the official restart of Black as White. It will open with the first 11 pages (Prologue) already posted and hopefully a nice page to start the official first chapter. And I hope to have a page a week done (paralleling the timing for Rival Hearts). And don't expect any really big changes in the story, at least not at first. I plan on keep pretty true to my original ideas, just presented better. (Which means some dialogue tweaks and MUCH better artwork.)

Thanks! See you all in less than a week for this big reveal! *giddy*

April 10, 2011
Posted the third part. Here we are. I had a good time drawing this part and about as much fun writing the dialogue. Next part... I'm not quite sure yet. I guess I need to introduce Allarielle. *giggles*

March 31, 2011
Well, a little later than I planned, but I had quite a lot of fun drawing these images, so far, and then adding dialogue to it. I figure I'll keep this as one expanding page so remember to scroll down when you're looking for updates.

The current plan right now is to post up the start of the reset sometime in May. That gives me the month of April to finish the insanity that is conventions (which I do love, mind!) and then settle into a few months where I can focus on the comics. (Which I love even more.)

Thank you all for your patience and understanding, and I hope you're enjoying this little sidetrack into a whole other side to these guys... not too much has changed, really.

March 14, 2011
A quick bit of explanation here: A friend put it into my head to get a better understand of character personalities by pulling them out of their world and fitting them into our modern one. It seemed the oddest concept to me.. until it started to work. And then the details wouldn't stop. the ideas and sketches I've doodled should work as a mini storyline and filler for a bit. After my busy convention run of the next month or so, I'll start working on the new changes coming to Black as White.

Yes, I did say changes. What, you may ask? Well, if you don't know yet... um, I'll tell you next week, as I'm falling asleep now and want to be more coherent.

February 22, 2011
I'm a little behind. Katsu weekend was busier than I'd expected. This was great for the convention, but slowed me down a bit in the comic progress. I will be getting on this as soon as possible. I did get Rival Hearts page 8 completed and posted up finally. So at least enjoy that update. :)
Cheers.

February 13, 2011
Ugh, well, this still took me longer to finish than I'd planned. Plus, while I'd meant this to be a three page interlude, it looks like I managed to conclude it in just two, so back to our regularly schedule insanity with 128.
For a change here, I've actually initated something that will come up later in the story. Might have a revisit before our "heroes" meet up with this plot, but I havne't decided yet.
Plus it was good to see Kid back and up to his usual mischief making ways. Him I'll definitely have to bring into more... Maybe even... ooh, yeah. Heh heh heh...

Also, the new comic Rival Hearts is now up to 7 pages. Read up and enjoy!

January 30, 2011
Got the computer working all right. Didn't get the next comic completed to satisfaction, so I decided to go with a whim (read: random doodle off the top of my head spur of the moment.) So little detail and the proportioning is off, but hey, at least it's something and a little funny... kinda. That is supposed to be Allura in the background in the cheerleader outfit.

Next actual comic to come in the next week.

January 28, 2011
After the joys of two days of on and off power (thank you heavy snows and less than ideal MD/DC power line arrangements).. and very little time to get work done, believe it or not, it turns out my laptop is having power issues of its own. In case there is a delay without any comments here at all, it's going to be because I can't get the darn thing to charge. I think I've saved it this time.

Phew. Back with something to post within two days.

January 23, 2011
This took a bit longer than I expected. I wanted to have it done for last week. And I didn't think of putting in a filler image. Someone else suggested that, but it was a bit too late. I'll know better for next time.

Until then, enjoy this little side track frm our main characters.. for a change. It shouldn't last too long, and there is a point.

January 9, 2011
Another week, another pair of comics up. Woohoo! One here and a Page 2 of Rival Hearts.
Okay, I feel a little bad. I've been putting more time into my new project than my old one, as the last two strips have proved. I'm going to plan some time hopefully this week to work out more of my script. I'm good at knowing where thigns will go, just not how to get there. Always the challenge, isn't it?

And for that little bit of personal... something. I've had a cold for weeks now. The trials of having a toddler. We keep trading it back and forth. Yay...

January 2, 2011
I almost made it! I really did. I wanted to get these new comics up for January 1. That's what I get for distracting myself partially with movies. (But it was Despicable Me! How could I resist? I couldn't, that's how. Mwahahaha!)

Erm, anyway. Two new comics up today. Obviously, there is the new comic posted above. Thank you, thank you. It was busy. I know the images aren't exactly complete. They will be!
Second is the comic promised in the previous post of just a few days ago. Page one of a new comic story Rival Hearts.

December 30, 2010
I know. I've been off yet again. New Year's is looming and my resolution is to really be back on this. We've heard it before, but I'm going to try to stick to it. And not just this one. No! I'm an insane maniac and I'm planning on starting another comic as well. Working out the place for it right now and I hope to have a page up in two days. Yes folks. Update on January 1st, 2011.

Check here and here.

September 11, 2010
Another week, another comic! Woohoo! go me! I'm kind of proud of this! And in the middle of a convention weekend no less. If you're in the area (or visiting SPX, we're right down the street) The Hilton on 355 in Rockville, MD: Intervention!

Next week, AWA!

I'm so tired.... Bed time. :)

September 5. 2010
Another week, another comic! It's a first in a while. I'm hoping to make it a regular pattern again, though. Next comic is already in the works and with any luck, I'll have it done before next weekend.

In other news, I'm having a long weekend at the beach. I'm daring I know. One of the busiest weekends of the year. And it actually isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It helps making the couple hour drive both ways through midnight.

August 26, 2010
Look! I've returned, and hopefully with a whole new bout of motivation for the comic. Yeah, I know I know. I've said it before. Actions, not words, right? Right! So, as I've been getting things together here, I plan to finalize the comic's storyline for the next... oh, hundred or so strips and I want to keep this thing moving again!
Besides, I will be featuring this small, but long running, comic at a convention specifically designed for webcomics. Intervention, in Rockville, MD. Yes. This is a webcomic convention. I'm nervous as anything. I need to print stuff. and maybe draw some pictures.

I won't mention other projects. This is big enough.

Cheers.

January 10, 2010
Here's hoping this all works out. I feel like more of a mess than my house is right now. In November, my computer started to have some serious issues, mostly it would freeze up, after booting into Windows, and would take forever to one little thing.. if it did anything at all. So I eventually wiped and reinstalled, or at least started to. Part of that was needing to finally upgrade my Adobe package. I downloaded the trail of CS4 last month, good for exactly 30 days... guess what yesterday was? It's been forever since I've done something like this, but I'm hand modifying the page code for this update. I apologize for any broken links. At least I managed to boot up Photoshop in time to put the comic together, though I'm missing all of my favorite fonts. Alas. Goal for later this month is to get everything back into organization, especially once I get my official license for the CS4 package!

Anyway, aside from this bit of fun (and so many others. Being a parent is fun and rewarding, but it really does limit personal time... and drains focus.) And Happy 2010 everyone!!

September 21, 2009
Believe it or not, a new strip. It's been *glances down* waaaaay too long. But I'm still trying to do this. Trying... Succeeding in a very slow way. Lots of my art time is also going to my other artwork for the scattered anime cons that I've been going to. "That's So Cute" buttons.

April 5-6, 2009
So here's the real strip, though I'll keep the April Fool's day one available here and in ... other places. Maybe I can make an annual one, if I can keep any kind of pattern anytime soon. No more promises, except that I don't plan on ever giving this comic up. It's too much fun!

April 1-2, 2009
Well, this came in a little later than expected. My computer decided to pull an April Fool's day prank on me and decided not to recognize an internet connection until after midnight. So I give you a few days to enjoy this before I post up the real one, which I assure you, this time, is already complete and will just be posted. <grin>

February 25-26, 2009
Happy well past New Year, or something like that. Yes, another long delay before a new strip. For those of you who are parents, I'm sure you know how time consuming and wearying children can be, particularly in the first few years. For thosse of you who don't have kids.. it's something to keep in mind. :)

What I mean by this is that in the last three months, I've been far more entranced and distracted by the development of my now 8 month old, so progress has been slow. And often halted as proven by my two day attempt at trying to post this. Two nights ago, I managed to get things scanned, prepared and started adding the dialogue... and suddenly it became a "cling to mommy" night. I had to give up and take her to bed with me just so we could both sleep.
Last night was far better there, but then I found I had hit a snag on some of the dialogue.
Tonight, well, I finally got it all done, but I had to wait until I finally got the little sleep fighter to bed... around 11pm. Long nights.

I'm not griping, I promise. I don't think I've ever been happier... or more exhausted. And now that she's becoming mobile... well things are only going to get more intersting from here.

To end my babbling update, I won't try to make any more specific time promises right now. I will say that I've already started on the next comic, so it will be coming at some point. And I assure you I have plenty of storyline planned out and some really funny material coming soon!

Thanks to all of you who have stuck around long enough to still be reading these new comics. ~<3

November 17-18, 2008
Ladies and Gentlemen (and anyone still out there) I have finally returned from my unintentional 8 month hiatus and have posted a new comic! Yes, I'm hoping to be able to pick back up on the 1-2 week posting that I was planning back in March. I think I have my inspiration back (okay, it never entirely left) but I also think I maight be able to have a bit of a handle on timing. And right now, time is really the biggest issue.

Coming soon, I'll probably have a more detailed post about what's been going on since my last post, as well as pictures of my 5 month old daughter. (She's so cute!!) Plus some sketches and layouts of other projects I've been working on. and some information on where I will be and where I hope to be going.

Until then... um, enjoy the return of the comic? Please? Thank you. ^_^

March 18, 2008
And life keeps going on and on and on... I don't remember what I was going to say after my last post, but clearly it went right out of my head like my schedule. At least I remember to write my script down. Now... where was I going next? Oh yeah. to bed.

I suppose I should just accept the fact that I'll probably be going between 1-2 weeks with posts for a while. Things are just hectic with all of the planning and preparing and events going on over the next few months, not to mention my own mental state, which has always been shaky at best.
Yes, I can admit it! I'm a nut. Want to know how much? With everything else going on, I'm also looking at new ideas for other comic projects. One, at least, won't come into play until late summer, at the earliest. Maybe I'll have sneak previews by then.

March 5, 2008
Yup, I know. Late again. Still going though, so it's something, right?

But as it is late in more ways than one, further details will have to wait at least a day.

February 12-13, 2008
Just a quick post and, sorry, no comic right now. I didn't want to try to rush thing, especially when I have so much last minute con prep to do. So instead my latest bit of creative fun. Three of my friends donated screen shots of their characters for the test run. I also have one of mine, but my computer's being a bit annoying and won't let me access my screen shot of him. Once I can get a hold of A screen shot, I'll upload his image as well.

I hope all is well for you all out there in internet-land! As for me, it's bedtime. More to come next week. (Sorry again for the continuing delays!)

February 5-6, 2008
Ah, I remember this familiar pattern, it was one I thought I'd broken. Guess I gotta break it again. (Mmm... breaking things.) Ahem.. anyway, moving right along. I know I promised action at some point, and there will be some! But we're also finally going to get some history on Paco. Curious? I know I am. (No wait. I already know. Darn, there goes my surprise, but you can still enjoy! ... Or do you already know?)

In real world news, well, there's the special block above stating the upcoming special realease of Black as White. It's not all of it, mind, but enough to make it fun!
Otherwise, I'll probably continue to be late the next two weeks. This coming weekend is visiting with the in-laws in OC. Should be fun. Next weekend: Katsucon! That'll be busy, and hopefully also fun! (We're sharing space again with In His Likeness! Yay!)

January 28-9, 2008
Ah, late posting yet again. Late in both the time and my intended date (which should have been two days ago, at least.). And I'm not even all that happy with this one. Well, with the images yes, particularly at the end, cause chibis are just fun... and I'm good at 'em. </ego moment> But also, when I first drew this (don't ask when, I'm already in enough trouble for my unprecidented hiatus.) I apparently had some dialogue in mind... I completely forgot to write it down, so this weekend was partially spent trying to figure out just what they are saying. Mostly the elves at the top, which is the part I don't like. I'll probably rewrite that at some point. - But Paco's new spell was fun to write. There are real words in there, honest! If you ask, I'll tell you what it is. *grin*

Otherwise, not too much more going on than there has been. Had an eventful weekend with a party first and then my mother coming to visit. (She's still here, leaving tomorrow.) and the fact that my scanner's still having some occasional issues.. or it's the computer. I know it's getting kind of old. I'll get it sorted out and in the meantime, there's nothing a quick reboot won't fix.

More next week: comic, news and excitement (I hope!)

January 20, 2008
Happy New Year everyone, and yes, I'm back. I could go on a list of why I've been away so long (ugh, about three months. Sorry!) but I suppose I really shouldn't waste space on excuses. Suffice to say, I've been kinda lazy and pre-occupied. Unfortunately, I didn't take any of this time to better plan out my story. Working on that now. Thing will pick back up, hopefully with regularly consistency. the story itself might be a little slow, but that action I promised months ago will still come. As well as a little info on one of the characters and a little more insight into what might be going on... maybe. <grin>
I hope I make the long wait worth it in the long run.

Cheers all, and I hope your New Year is looking great!

October 23, 2007
All right, I know. I'd been doing so good then the last month or so, I've completely blown my schedule. Though, as far as I can tell, with these two strips, I should now be caught up until this weekend.
Didn't help that.. well, you've probably seen the server problems. My own excuses? Yeah, I know. I should be making time for this. And I shall again! So much going on... more on that later. A few new projects to get started on soon, and currently some specifically for AUSA in less than a month. Whee!! Should be fun. I might be rolling out some new product.

But for now, I suppose that's it. Gonna keep this going. Yes, there is a new character in the group and you will soon find out what's up with her, (Don't tell me you didn't guess it was a female under those robes! And not just any female. Heh heh heh... :)
But first... a little more action. Cause we could all use a little more action in our lives. And I need to work on drawing more action, cause I've not done it much and practice makes perfect, right?

October 9-10, 2007
Turned out to be a day later. The federal holiday threw me off. I was off work yesterday, so I wound up doing other things. completely forgot. Ah well. It's here now. And, if you missed it, 106 and 107 were posted above until I added the new one, so if you missed them.... you can just check the archive. <grin>

This one was written at about the same time as 106 was, both of which were actually after 107 in terms of creation. Will me. Now to sleep so I can continue my work on 109 tomorrow. Yay! <thunk>

October 6, 2007
Well, this has been a bit of an unexpected hiatus. Between the con a few weeks ago (21-23) and then the site being down for a while, I guess I wound up a bit behind again, eh? Well, all is being made up for. 106 and 107 are up now, and 108 is on its way. (Tomorrow or Monday depending on how busy the weekend winds up...)

Speaking of the weekend, I'm going from here to PA to see my dad officially married to the woman he's been with since just before I got married (That's about 2 1/2 years for those who are counting.) This will be exciting! I'll even get to see members of my family I haven't in many many years. (Yeah, I'm out of touch.)

In any other news.. well, ther eisn't anything at the moment. Attempting to get things back together around the house. I seem to have hit a bit of a slump in motivation again. but that won't last much longer. Plenty of things to do and no conventions until next month. I can breathe (not that I'm complaining. I love the convention scene! It just gets.. kinda stressing, not to mention time consuming. But I think well worth it!)
So that's about it for now. Nothing else exciting in my life. It just goes on.

September 16, 2007
Yay! Completed another comic strip. And I felt the need to break the fourth wall just a smidge on this one, but I guess I'm further developing the humor of the comic. *grin* So yeah, sorry for yet another minor delay. still sick = lots of sleep (not that I'm complaining. I think I needed the sleep anyway.)

Aside from that, I'm preparing for yet another convention. Yes, Anime Weekend Atlanta which is, yes, in Atlanta GA. Time for a nice long trip later this week and hopefully an art table will be waiting for me. (I was put on the waiting list, but I should be at the top of it. *hopes*
Of course, in the rush of everything else I will try to have the next comic up in time, but it will probably be up on Monday. On the other hand, I don't have a con for a nother two months after this. No more excuses! (...hopefully)

September 12, 2007
I managed to keep to posting this before this weekend's (currently in progress, yes.) sorry about the few day delay. Of course, after getting off the excitement of this past weekend's con, I get caught in the cross between preparing for Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) in a week and a half (costuming in progress. Whee!) and catching the office plague, which at least is just a cold, but it's knocking me a bit on my bum. :P
So yeah, because of all that, I'm late and didn't get the proper shading done. But I did get a little distracted witht he idea of playing around in photoshop. It was too flat otherwise. *grin* Not final. All those unfinished pages will be completed.. eventually.

That aside, a little bit of info on the Baltimore comicon, as promised. It wasn't the best of cons, I'll admit, though I'm pleased that I sold a few of my books. But it was a conbination of not really having the space we'd expected to have (cause the premise for our little group lounge was a good one) and the actual con-goers, most of whom, I think were more interested in buying mainstream comics and collectables, rather than self-published and online comics. But such is how it goes. We passed out a lot of flyers, talked to a fair few people and my fellow artists got to give interviews!
Oh! on that note, who I shared table space with: Darren Gendron (and his lovely wife Kendra) of Dear Pirate and The Expert's Guide, Ross Nover of The Rockets and, of course, my wonderfullly talented friend James Hatton (and his better half Dani) of In His Likeness.

Also, f or those of you who missed the cover of my mini book (posted earlier this week) you can still see it here. These will be for sale at future cons and, eventually, online here. If you're interested in one, let me know.

September 8, 2007
Hey all! So, you now see the cover of my first mini book. It's actually the first 11 strips redrawn with current art, set up in a full page layout and, in some cases, with slightly modified dialogue to better suit the characters as they are now. It also includes the character descriptions I haven't managed to get set up here yet. (oops) This now currently on sale this weekend at the Baltimore Comicon (Webcomics Lounge - booth #1516).

Unfortunately, due to the work I wound up putting, last minute, into getting the books done, I haven't yet finished this week's comic. I am working on it and should have it done at the con tomorrow, so either tomorrow or Monday night it will be up, and I will resume with regular schedule the following Saturday.

More on the con itself when I post the comic. (sleep now, early morning.)

September 1-2, 2007
I can't believe it's September already! At least we're now into a three day weekend. Still there is moving on the morning horizon (I'm just glad it isn't me! I'm just the "hired" help.)

Anyway, new comic up, pretty much on time, as promised. I don't know what next week's schedule will look like jsut yet. I have a few other things I need to work on before the Comicon, but I hope to have a new strip up as part of those things. If not, I have a few other things that will be another filler.
Sorry! I'm trying. It's a bit of a busy time. *hides*

Also, it was pointed out to me that I mis-typed the link for my Deviant Art account last week. So here it is, corrected. Cheers.
I relaly need to sleep now. : )

August 26, 2007
Happy weekend, everyone! Yes, okay, I'm still running late with my comic, as I have the past few weeks, but I figured in light of the fact that I've been having a hard time concentrating lately on things I should be, I wasn't going to push myself too much. So I'll finish 103 this weekend and will have it up on time this coming Saturday.

In the meantime, I give you my World of Warcraft character, Erik (well Erikalis really, because Erik was taken). As he was originally modelled off a rather meek, bookish D&D mage character I'd created a long time ago, it's little wonder that when he finally had to upgrade his armour to something stronger than tha robes he'd been wearing, and all they had for his level was vests (bloody vests!!) he was feeling a little exposed.
So yeah, that's what was on my mind.
PS. No, the actual WoW character doesn't have glasses, but those were in my original character concept. He also used to be human. We compromised. ^_^ Enjoy! See you next week!

More silly little art bits now uploaded on my Deviant Art account.

August 20-21, 2007
Another late, and late night post. Though not nearly as late as last week. Yet another comic where I had to spend a lot more time on dialogue. But you can't just expect conversation this brilliant to always come so smoothly, can you? <g> Okay, yeah, ego aside, this was fun once I finally figured out exactly what I was doing with it.

In the meantime, I had something of a busy weekend, including spending time on Saturday helping a friend move some of her stuff. There will likely be more time in the next few weeks helping friends move. Apparently, 'tis the season.
Well, it's good exercise, right? Ha, I feel BUFF!

Anyway, my apologies that I haven't gotten those new images scanned in yet. I'm still tryig to get myself together. From what? I'm not sure. Maybe it's these late nights... I seem to have so many of them. - Oh well, either way, there is definitely art coming!

August 14th, 2007
Phew. Yes, I know, I'm late again. I don't plan to make a continuous habit out of this. But I did decide that since I was already running late this weekend, I'd put forth the extra effort to actually finish it completely. With all the shading and everything. I'm pleased, and I hope you enjoy as well!

Current news? Well, part of the delay was due to taking a few days off last week where I was told to not think about work or comic stuff. So I didn't. Have some other strange doodles though. I should have them up on DA at some point in the next week or so. It's that effort it takes to scan things and then upload them. *grin*

Just a few weeks left of finish a few projects in time. Hopefully I'll be able to manage these. I'm falling a little behind, but aside from some cleaning of the house this coming weekend, I intend to put a lot of the time to drawing and all. (That's what the only slightly distracting HP audiobooks are for. *grins*) not much else to share currently, so I'll just have to have something worth sharing this weekend.

August 4, 2007
Happy 100th strip!! It 6 years to get here, but here we are. And as a special, as you can see, I did this one in full color! Heh heh.. don't get too used to it. We'll be back to greyscale next week. You can see the gray-toned version here.

In other news, have I mentioned that I'm working on a new BaW project? I'm going to re-release the prologue, completely redrawn and shaded, print only. It should hopefully be ready and available by Baltimore Comicon the first weekend of September.

Finally, I have remembered to actually post up the new fanart and guest comic on my Fanart page. Take a look! It's good stuff!

Thank you all, and here's to hopefully another 100 strips, at least. I can tell you now, we've barely tipped the edge of the storyline. Cheers, all. Meg

Yes, still trying to keep up. guess I'm either not quite as focused or have less tham than I think. Either way, I was also trying for something rather complicated with this strip. not sure if I quite got the point acrss at the end. I'll doa little cleaning and get that up a bit better, plus with the next strip. Number 100, folks. You know what that means, right?
Well, if you do know, I don't need ot tell you, and if you don't well... That's the surprise. Should be fun, either way. <g>

Anyway, now off to bed with me. Oh and yes, I do need to finish the page for this strip, plus I have fanart that needs to be posted. I promise I will get that done! (in due time. But I don't mean to make anyone feel unappreciated for their time and effort. I appreciate you all!)
Must sleep now. *thunk*

I LIVE! I think. <g>
Otakon was one crazy con this year, but I had a lot of fun. I also drew a lot of portraits and comission art. Nearly burnt myself out.. May have, actually. Just goes to show I need to draw more, eh?

So, this isn't my artwork. It's yet another art gift from the wonderfully talented Kiaki-chan who has now made me four pictures to date, and was awesome and hung out with me at the table this weekend! This, the Sparkie sketch she drew me this weekend, plus another picture of Paco from ages ago, will make it to my fanart gallery this weekend along with a place for the Guest Strip that Dean had made me.

To follow that, yes, I was so busy with pre- and at con stuff that I didn't have much time to work on this past weekend's technical comic. I do have most of it sketched out. I'm trying out a few new items. We are also anticipating strip #100, finally. Yes, I do have something special planned for that. timing right now: 99 this weekend, and 100 next. (Patience is a virtue. heh. :) )

Finally, I'd like to thank all those cool people that I got to hang with this weekend! Lots of web comics artists around, which was just awesomeness. I will list them this weekend so those looking can share in it all. I don't have the links with me right now and I'm just too exhausted right now. I barely remembered to post something. Aheheh...
Anyway, welcome also to all you folks I met at Otakon that are visiting now. (And to Jareth and Ambrocious, please send an email, I'd really love to see more of your work and I forgot to get your DA accounts.)

Yup, slacking again, well at least in still not having the full shading complete, and, honestly, I won't next week either, because it's Otakon and I have a few new buttons to complete by then, as well as finishing the repairs and, hopefully, a few additions to my KH2 Sora costume. I will have that costume fully complete but AWA! (oh yes...)

I also realize the dialogue may seem a little poor, but keep in mind, these aren't necessarily the brightest of thugs.Even if they think it's witty, doesn't mean everyone else will. <g>

Finally, I have received new gifts of fanart from the lovely Kiaki-chan (who will also be visiting my table at Otakon. Yay!), But I will apologize to her now that I will have to wait until late this week to post it because I really need to sleep. It's bad enough I forgot to scan all this in and complete it before I went away for the weekend (friend's engagement party. More Yay!) So this is going up technically Monday morning. Should have the next comic by Friday night.
Getting close to the centennial strip!

PS. bonus points (maybe a free gift?) for anyone who can recognize the title reference! (My near and dear ones don't count, cause I know you'll know. ;) )

Greetings and salutations. I have a few new things for you today. As you can tell, I have a guest comic, as I'd promised last weekend, by Dean F. the guy who made my day by randomly emailing me just to say hi, at first. And then he made me the amusing banner above as an invitation for everyone else to do the same. Please feel free to click on the banner and say hi!

Oh and yes, I am actually posting a day (or two depending on how you look at it) early. This is because, due to the impending con this weekend, I don't know if I'll have a connection this weekend. This just seemed easier while I've got the connection.
So once again, That's So Cute will be hiding out at AnimeNEXT! And don't forget Otakon in two weeks! Hopefully we'll be hanging out with In His Likeness and Noses Optional.

Call me a slacker. I know. I deserve it. Things have been busy as I have taken on a few different projects. More on those later though.. Once I have it all a bit more clear. Right now, most forefront (aside from the fact that I didn't complete this comic in full shading, I know.) is that I'm going to be doing a sort of rush con next weekend. The buttons will be at AnimeNEXT sharing space with Priss of PhantomBlush (an amazing comic and anime-character artist!)

On that note, also, I will be busy this week doing all kind of non-comic related things so, in lieu, I shall be posting a *cue drumroll* Guest Comic! Yes, I've been sent a guest comic. I do welcome them. So if anyone else wishes to submit one, consider this the official "open invitation". Mind I do reserve the right to artist critique and correct as necessary, but as long as it isn't above and beyond the call of unnecessary imaging, then I will proudly post it! So, share with me. Or even just talk. I'd love to hear what people think of the comic, story.. any suggestions? ^_^
To make things easier, I've added a new new of "easy access" links to the left of the News here so you can contact me! (More links to come.)
